Our Story

Being New England's first and only kava bar, we have a unique responsibility here at Root Awakening, to not only provide an ideal atmosphere to enjoy kava, but we strive to educate the public on all aspects of this sacred root.

The Bar

Enjoy a shell of kava, in a comfortable and calm environment, with some good company. Root Awakening is an adult lounge, that feels much like a normal bar- minus the alcohol. Have fun in the gaming room with giant Jenga, Connect 4, and a Pacman arcade.

Kava

Traditionally, Pacific Islanders crushed, chewed, and ground the root and stump of the shrub, then soaked it in water to produce a drink for ceremonies and cultural practices. Kava promotes a relaxed and calm feeling, with a natural ability to reduce anxiety and stress.
